Some of the more famous spring break locations such as Acapulco, Cancun, Mazatlan, and Rosarito Beach share a common geographic fact. They are all located in Mexico, which is a haven for spring breakers. Mexico offers a wealth of choices in accommodation, food and drinks, and fun activities which will cater to a host of budgets from economy to luxury class. And as with other spring break destinations, a series of beach and pool parties are organized during the daytime hours, while the action shifts towards the bars and lounges at night.
Cancun has been one of the long running spring break favorites for over three decades. Serving an eclectic mix of activities in the daytime which will cater to almost everyone’s interest, sun, sea, and sports lovers will have their hands full with a wide range of options to fill their hours. You can of course just sit back and let the world pass you by as you wait for the magical hour of dusk when the bars transform themselves into some of the hottest and wildest places where just about all the spring breakers congregate for the party action around.
And speaking of party, Mazatlan, which translates into “land of party”, is another favorite of the spring break crowd. The nightlife during spring break season also holds up on its own. Mazatlan also holds a strong local flavor and identity which has been kept intact even with the huge number of tourists who flock to this place.
Rosarito Beach in Ensenada is another sun-kissed strip of beautiful beaches just down the California Coast towards the Baja Peninsula. Although a little more laid back and relaxed in it’s partying atmosphere, Rosarito Beach is the perfect place to just let the world spin on its own while you slowly sip your Margarita from your choice of location. There are certainly many options to drink a nice tall cocktail, such as your hotel veranda with friends and travel partners, the poolside, on the beach while people watching, or in one of the bars in and around the area.
Should you wish to relive your mad partying days, just a short drive away are some of the bars made famous by their spring break parties. Those places usually fill up fast with the younger, wilder, more boisterous crowd as the night wears on. Some of the bars offer special spring break passes which cover entrance fees, some promotional discounts, as well as drinks for the duration of your partying. These passes are well worth the money you pay for them especially if you intend to binge out during spring break. And for most spring break vacationers, that is what it’s all about. Tequila and Jello shots, beer bongs, rum colas, gin fizzlers, margaritas, vodka tonics and everything else worthy of jazzing up your future recollection of what really happened on that “last night of spring break”. Go ahead, try them all. Don’t worry. What happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico.
